Second life of port cranes

used port cranesPORTSSOLUTIONS, a German company offering used harbor equipment, delivered three port cranes for bulk cargo handling from the port of Santander to the port of Vilagarcía de Arousa in Spain for the stevedoring company García Reboredo S.L.

The cranes can lift up to 16 tons with a maximum radius of 33m in four rope configuration and are designed for handling bulk cargoes with mechanical four rope grabs.

Before the delivery, the cranes have been painted according to the maritime standard and refurbished in order to provide reliable and effective port operations for a long time.

Loading the cranes on board the vessel took only two days, thanks to good collaboration of all participants and two powerful heavy lift cranes of up to 250 tons of the “Industrial Skipper”.

All three cranes have been successfully unloaded afterwards within one working day at the port of Vilagarcía de Arousa. The delivered equipment will contribute to a significant increase in the turnover capacity for García Reboredo S.L.
