Bendezu Port Equipment GmbH, an international trading company offering second-hand harbour equipment, has recently delivered a mobile harbour crane LIEBHERR LHM 150 from Poland to its customer in Portugal.
The second-hand crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 40 tons and a maximum radius of 32m, has one remote controlled rotator equipped with a double hook. This unit comes in a 2-rope configuration. Due to its travelling and supporting system, the parameters of the undercarriage in this crane can easily be adapted to comply with the most stringent quay load restrictions, which explains its perfect adaptation to most of the piers.
The crane was loaded at the port of Swinoujscie in Poland on board the vessel M/V Eemslift Dafne with the help of the two 275 tons deck cranes. The loading operation took only one day, after which the vessel departed on 21 August for the port of Leixoes in Portugal.
The transit time was just 7 days and today the crane is already installed and in operation at TCGL (Terminal de Carga Geral e de Graneis de Leixoes, S.A., part of E.T.E. Group) employed for general cargo handling.
The multipurpose terminal with 2,280m of quays, 12m draft and 13.5ha of open storage, handles bulk, general, project and heavy-lift cargoes, such as steel, wooden and agricultural products, scrap, transformers and wind power equipment. In 2016, TCGL’s throughput was over 3 mln tons. Currently, one of the main tasks of the company is to improve its handling capacity and increase the productivity levels, with which aim it invests in new equipment.
